# 12) Recording a flight

The instrument automatically detects takeoff and starts recording the flight without any action from you.

The ongoing recording is indicated by the airplane icon in the top information bar.

The instrument continuously records flight data (altitude, vario, GPS position, etc.).

***

#### **Automatic stop of recording**

Recording stops automatically when the instrument detects that you have landed and remained still for a few moments.

The flight is then saved in the instrument’s memory.

***

#### **Turning off the instrument during a flight**

If you attempt to turn off the instrument during a flight, a confirmation screen is displayed to prevent accidental interruption.

If you confirm shutdown:

* the current flight is automatically saved,
* the instrument turns off normally.

No flight data is lost.

#### **Specific case of the Alti V4 (without integrated GPS)**

On **Alti V4** instruments, flight recording works on the same principle but requires an active Bluetooth connection with the **Syride Link** application.

The Syride Link application transmits GPS data to the instrument, allowing the flight to be recorded.

⚠️ **Important note:** Without an active Bluetooth connection to the Syride Link application, the Alti V4 does not have the necessary GPS data and will not be able to record the flight.

It is therefore necessary to connect the instrument to the application before takeoff if you want to record your flight.

⚠️ **Important note:** The Alti V4 cannot sign generated IGC files for competitions that require a **G-record** type signature.
