16) Practical usage tips

Display customization

You can fully customize the instrument display (size, position, units, displayed data) using the screen configurator: https://www.syride.com/en/ssctool/

GPS acquisition (GPS model only)

We recommend turning on your instrument during pre-flight to allow the GPS to acquire satellites before takeoff. This ensures complete flight recording and optimal accuracy from the start.

Flight recording (Alti model only)

To record your flight track, you must connect your instrument to the Syride Link application via Bluetooth before takeoff.

The application provides the GPS data required for flight recording.

Instrument safety

Using the supplied lanyard is recommended to secure the instrument and prevent any loss during flight.

Possible interferences

The following equipment may interfere with some of the instrument’s sensors:

  • VHF radios may interfere with GPS reception (altitude, speed, glide ratio, etc.),

  • magnets present in some harnesses may interfere with the magnetic compass.

For optimal accuracy, avoid placing the instrument in close proximity to these sources.

Battery life

The backlight improves readability but significantly increases power consumption. We recommend using it only when necessary.

The instrument automatically charges when connected to a USB port, even when turned off.

Factory reset

The factory reset function, accessible from the Syride Link software (Instrument settings → Troubleshooting), allows you to fully reset the instrument.

⚠️ Important note: This operation deletes:

  • flights stored in the instrument,

  • screen configurations,

  • user settings.
