# VI.	General ergonomics

When the instrument is operating, the entire display surface is dedicated to flight information. To bring up the menus, swipe your finger across the screen **applying light pressure (ideally with the tip of the nail for better precision)** :

\
\- The information banner appears for 3 seconds by sliding your finger from top to bottom: \

On the top menu you will find these pieces of information in order:

* Battery indicator
* ADSL connectivity status (option)
* Bluetooth connectivity status
* Indicator of the last live position sent to the Syride.com servers
* Time and flight time
* GPS reception status

On the second line you will find quick navigation between your different flight screens. The active screen is shaded and the icons can be customized via the screen configurator (SSCTOOL): \

\- To change the flight screen, simply swipe your finger to the right or left: ![](/files/d52a45f3ad4f024e14106e8933066a95d3d51974)![](/files/4963dc9a4ccb1dfa2bec7e0d34bd855fa2cd1fbb)

When you configure your screens, it is also possible to add buttons directly on your flight screens to change screens without swiping (see chapter "customize the screens"):

For information:

* **Light pressure must be applied to use the touchscreen** of the Evo V2. This technology, different from what is used on our mobile phones, allows the instrument to be used with gloves.
* A reverse swipe clears the menu if it is still displayed. Example: if the top menu is displayed, a bottom-to-top swipe will clear it.
* Flight detection for data recording is automatic (the flight time indicator appears at takeoff).
* The touch area is designed to be used with or without gloves.
* A number indicates the number of satellites synchronized to obtain your position and altitude. At least 3 are required for flight information that requires GPS reception to be displayed. Otherwise, a “NO GPS” text will be shown.
* The first GPS reception after a long shutdown or a significant geographic change can take up to 10 minutes. It must be done outdoors. We recommend turning on your Evolution a few minutes before takeoff (during your preflight) until the GPS is synchronized.
* A 3.5 mm jack is available on the right side of the device to obtain the vario sound in a headset.
