XXII. Practical usage tips

  • We recommend turning on your Evo during your preflight so the GPS can get a fix at the moment of takeoff.

  • Polarized sunglasses reduce glare on the screen.

  • A wrist strap helps to secure your instrument to prevent losing it in flight.

  • VHF (radio) waves and magnets present in the harness can disturb GPS reception (altitude / track / speed / glide ratio…) as well as the magnetic compass.

  • An internal protection automatically cuts the instrument’s battery power in case of excessive temperature (the instrument may not start if it has been left too long in direct sun or in a vehicle).

  • If your instrument is very hot and you fly into very cold air (thermal shock), condensation may appear on the screen. It will dissipate within about ten minutes.

  • Factory reset available from the instrument or the Link software restores your instrument’s default configuration (note, this action will delete flights, display configuration and usage settings, etc.). Same in the menu Settings / Advanced settings of the instrument. (see XIII: Advanced settings).
